Fruit Pulao

Time Required: 25 Minutes
Serves: 2

Flavored Rice with fresh and dry fruits


2 Cups Basmathi Rice
2 tbsp Apple pieces
2 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter or Oil
1tsp Chili Powder
2tsp Raisins
1 big Onion
1 Cup Orange Juice
2tbsp Pineapple pieces
Few Seedless Grapes
2 – 3 one inch Cinnamon sticks
2 – 3 Cloves
6 Cashew nuts, Chopped into pieces
2tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
Salt to taste


In a Handi, heat Ghee and fry Cashew nuts until they turn pink. Remove and keep aside. Add Cinnamon and Cloves to the remaining Ghee and stir. Now, add Onions and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add Chili Powder, Rice, Salt, Orange Juice, Apples, Pineapple and seedless Grapes. Mix together and add 3cups of water and close the Handi. Cook on low flame until the Rice is cooked. Remove to a serving dish and serve hot garnished with fried nuts, Apple pieces, Raisins and Coriander leaves.
