  • Make no compromise with the quality of the cigar. Ensure that it has been made from 100 percent tobacco. There are various packaged cigars that are prepared from non-tobacco products, such as paper, saltpeter or glycerin. It is advisable to keep away from them.
  • A cigar should suit your level of smoking experience. If you are an experienced smoker, cigars of larger diameter are the best pick. If you intend to gift it to someone who is new to the smoking act, longer cigars would be the right choice.
  • The length of the cigar also plays an important role in the purchasing decision. If you want to gift a cigar that would last for about an hour or more, pick one that is at least 7 inches in length. A 4 1/2 to 5 inch cigar lasts for about 45 minutes.
