Career Objectives for Freshers

Career Objectives for Freshers

People who are seeking their first jobs need to work really hard on their resumes and CV's since this is the first point of contact between them and their potential employers. Since there is not any prior work experience that they can highlight and talk about, they need to focus more on their present skills and potential to acquire new skills so as to meet the organizations objectives.

For this purpose, a proper career objective is a vital aspect of their resume and this is the first thing in their CV that the employer will be casting his eyes on. A career objective is nothing but a simple one liner (or a couple of lines) that specifies the course that the individual envisages his career taking, and also talks about how the individual sees himself growing in a specific field.

Career Objective Sample for Freshers

It is very rare for a fresher to know exactly where he wants to end up in the organization in the long term. Even if he is aware of such an ambition, it is best not to stress upon it too much. On the contrary, a fresher should keep his career objective statement short and sweet, and should only talk about how he wants to join a stable organization and wants to acquire all the skills and knowledge that he can from the experience. Here are a few samples of career objectives for freshers.

Career Objective#2 To implement new technologies and gain a positive foothold in a business environment that encourages innovation and foresees industrial trends.
Career Objective#3 To be a part of an organization that focuses on customer satisfaction and customer retention, and to utilize my interpersonal skills to achieve these goals.

Depending on the nature of the job that you are applying for and your related skills and qualifications, you can decide for yourself if you want your career objective statement to be vague, or specific. Sometimes it is easier to just be vague since this gives you more room to speak about yourself when you are giving a personal interview, since being specific about certain skills and qualifications will lead the interviewer to ask questions pertaining to those skill sets only. This is a call that you will have to make on your own discretion, since each situation and each job interview is unique. Here are some rules that you should follow when you are creating a statement of career objectives for freshers.
  1. The statement should not be a made up lie or fabrication of your skills or qualifications.
  2. The statement should most certainly be pertinent to the company and to the post that you are applying for. Do not use a common statement for every single job application.
  3. The statement should be short and precise, and it should not be a summary of your background. Instead, you should talk about what your vision is and what kind of an organization you are expecting.
  4. You should definitely talk about what you can bring to the table and how you can add value to the organization.
  5. You should also mention why you would be a perfect candidate to fill a vacant post at the company.
